Important Tips to be a Good Worker in an Industry

By | May 7, 2015

Industries are expanding a lot these days and there is a huge demand for workers and engineers in these fields. Many people are observed these days having a desire to work with machines and be in an industry. For this, one must have proper knowledge about certain terms and processes and there should always be a desire to learn more. There has always been a curiosity to know the process of joining of metal pieces. Metals pieces are usually joined to get a desired shape out of a deformed metal sheet. There are certain ways to join metals. A few include welding, soldering, brazing. People often get confused between welding and soldering. So let’s discuss it in brief. Welding is a process of joining two similar or dissimilar metals in which both the work piece and the filler is heated whereas soldering is a process in which two metals are joined together without heating the work piece .

Facts Relating to It

There are basically two types of soldering. One is wave soldering and the other one is reflow soldering. It joins two metal pieces with the help of solder (a fusible alloy) provided the solder has a low melting temperature than the work piece. The solder is heated until it gets melted and hence the two work pieces get joined. It is very useful in electrical engineering. Process of reflow soldering is not that difficult. It can be easily performed at home by following some safety measures.

Safety Precautions

One of the most important things that need to be kept in mind is that no direct contact should be made with the heated metal. This can cause serious bruises and injuries. So it is advised to wear gloves all the time while carrying out such operations. If you are a newcomer, it is advised that you must carry out such operation under the guidance of an experienced person. This is because of the reason that many unfamiliar conditions can arise which can be very harmful. One cannot learn such things from books and thus theoretical knowledge is not enough. Unless you have a good practice in performing operations, you are not fit to join an industry.
